3 reasons you should at least give charity once a year
At various points in our lives, we consider donating to a charity but often the thought comes along in our mind that we can wait for a year to end and give away some percent of our incomes to the charity, or perhaps we can do it all later in our life. As it makes much sense for instance we can look at Bill Gates Elon musk Warren Buffett after which what comes to our mind is that we can first maximize our success and then walk on the path of donations and philanthropy.
Have this question more than twice and many of us made up my mind to became successful and then participate in charity in fact in many altruistic communities this has become an evergreen debate. What the answer is always firm and should be always the same that we should give now rather than later what the answer is always firm and should be always the same that we should give now rather than later.
As once truly remarked by Harriett Jackson Brown Jr., an American author best known for his inspirational book, Life’s Little Instruction Book, “Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.”
Hence he should also strive to give for all means and purposes at least once a year for these four main reasons.
Fund charities to do a more future good deed:
Generally, we are all genuinely willing to make a difference in the world and making the world a better place. It can be through anything from having an affinity to wild animals or our kid’s elementary school to the local park or any religious organization. They all will equally appreciate whatever donations we can make for them or efforts we can put in for them. we should not be hindered by the fact that we are not having millions of thousands to give, even small donations can go long way, for example, we can provide shelter to many homeless people in a local homeless shelter or provide entire meals under just three dollar per person, therefore, we should give now and give whatever we can.
Influencing others:
One another good reason to give is that whenever we give charity it influences the people around us to give as well. It might have been the case that if we invested all our previous donations into index funds and donated the proceeds. But on the other hand, if we give each year and we make a note of it or if we even succeed in convincing one or more person to learn to give by setting an example then we have likely double the effect of our donations on the world. It is often believed that the act of charity must be carried out in secret or private but on the other hand, we could also look at it as a way to inspire people to give by doing it ourselves and we should give loudly and proudly as well as an activity for the same cause or cause. Doing so will be encouraging others to do the same.
Doing good is good for your health:
If we do good, we get good. Good deeds always land us in a happy situation. Often when we help someone we feel pleasure. Likewise when we donate to the needy ones we feel great happiness seeing their faces all lighted up. Researchers at the National Institute of Health found that when we help others our brain’s pleasure centers lit up and improve our body chemistry. It causes our body to emit endorphins that give us the feeling of pleasure called “helper’s high”. So, as the saying goes “a healthy mind is a healthy body”, we should also keep helping the needy ones and keep our mind healthy, and naturally, our body too will be healthy and we’ll live a stress-free long life. For instance, we can take WE Charity which was founded by Craig Kielburger along with his brother Marc Kielburger, which provides a holistic development model called WE Villages, helping to lift more than one million people out of poverty in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and help them by providing opportunities to develop socially as well as economically. Knowing that we are part of something which is making such an enormous difference is going to make us feel happy and satisfied with our lives.
